Packing Tips

To get the most out of your storage unit, we recommend utilizing the proper packing technique. First, take inventory of everything you'll need to store and make sure you label your boxes. Try not to store loose items aside from large furniture or appliances. Get covers for furniture and put the largest items near the back --especially if you don't need to access them. Then, begin to pack things from back to front based on your accessibility needs. If possible, bring a shelving unit to help you maximize your vertical storage for boxes.

FAQ's

• Tenants are required to provide their own lock. We recommend a high-quality disc or cylinder lock for added security

• Units are not climate controlled at this time but designed to be clean and dry. Temperatures will fluctuate with seasonal weather changes.

• Rent due first day of each month or you can choose to pay quarterly, bi-annual or annual

• Pay online, via Venmo (Xtra Footage Properties, LLC), by check (mail check to address in lease agreement), set up of auto ACH payments available

• Signed lease agreement required (will be emailed) prior to rental

• We recommend that all tenants carry storage rental insurance to protect your belongings. Many homeowners or renters insurance policies may already include off-site storage coverage. We encourage tenants to check with their insurance provider to confirm coverage details. Affordable storage protection plans are easy to set up.

How big is a 10' x 10' storage unit? It's roughly the size of half of a one car garage (see top picture). This unit is most popular for storing the contents of one to two bedroom apartment. It would also fit motorcycles, ATV's, jet skis or snowmobiles. It is the most popular size for business inventory/supplies.

How big is a 10' x 15' storage unit? It's roughly the size of two-thirds of a one-car garage (see bottom picture). It is ideal for storing contents of two to three bedroom apartment or home. It often fits the contents of 3 furnished rooms. It would also fit motorcycles, small trailers, lawn equipment, sporting equipment.
